About Me

Hey! Welcome.

I’m Katy. This is where you’ll expect to read all the great details about my qualifications, credentials, and why I can help you. But I’m going to throw out some personal things here, too. Why? Frankly, the personal connection and rapport is going to be your #1 indicator that I can help you as a therapist.

So: I love reading, but mostly teen/young adult dystopian/sci fi fiction. I love pursuing a journey to get healthy. Yes, my workouts are on and off again, but I keep going. Journaling helps me slow down enough to hear my thoughts. I’m an introvert who loves connecting to people.

I am passionate about helping teen and young adult women find solutions for depression and anxiety. I first knew I wanted to be a counselor when I started seeing my own therapist as a teenager. I’ve fought my way out of depression and anxiety, and while this won’t make me an expert on YOUR way out of depression and anxiety, I know some of what it will take. Most of all, I have the utmost empathy and compassion for anyone walking through depression and anxiety. Therefore, I will be 100% in your corner and fight just as hard as you do for your healing.

Some of the professional stuff: I have a Master’s in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I have been practicing since 2014, and I am licensed in Texas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. I take an eclectic approach to therapy, so whatever will fit your needs best (cognitive-behavioral, emotion-focused, person-centered, or a mix) — that’s the track we’ll take.
